The Chinese smartphone maker Huawei’s latest devices Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are likely to enhance its camera features and compete with iPhone Xs and Galaxy Note 9. Huawei Mate 20 Pro third teaser highlights the underwater feature that lets you shoot clearer photos when you submerge the device in the water, though with an additional plastic bag.
The teaser posted on Weibo has confirmed the news, besides teasing the camera-centric design of the Mate 20 while the Mate 20 Pro has leaked in the form of official renders and working prototype. Huawei Mate 20 Pro will sport triple camera setup, and a new APK teardown by folks at XDA Developers hints the possible photography features including the Underwater Mode, which will allow users to “take clear shots in underwater environments”.
Huawei Mate 20 series owners will be able to take a picture in underwater mode by pressing the volume down button, and shoot video recording, when volume button is up. Apart from the underwater mode feature, the other exciting feature mentioned in the APK is AI Zoom, that allows users automatically adjust the zoom level according to the distance and positioning of the subject in the video.
Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be unveiled at an event in London on October 16, and these are the first devices to pack new Kirin 980 CPU built using 7nm process.
