Streaming service Hotstar is finally letting users download premium content. The platform, which launched more than two years ago, had been offering offline viewing, but only for a small number of old and regional shows.
The latest update of Hotstar for iOS and Android has added a download button under popular TV shows and movies.
When tapped, this option asks the user to select content quality (anything between ‘Low’ to ‘full HD’) before it starts the download, Gadgets360 reported.
Then, it can be viewed offline or deleted from the downloads section of the app.
You can download a range of titles, including shows like Game of Thrones, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, and The Big Bang Theory.
In the movies’ section, you can download The Shape of Water, The Greatest Showman, Maze Runner: Death Cure, Red Sparrow, and more.
However, do note the app still doesn’t allow downloads for Star Wars and Marvel movies as well as many HBO and CW titles.
